Toyota’s Ninja Kittens
November 10, 2008
Toyota typically does not have great commercials in North America, and seem to gear them towards the typical Toyota crowd of asian accountants, j/k! A commercial we’re missing out on is the Ninja Kittens marketing the new Corolla in Australia
According to the agency, the campaign “tells the story of a kitten headed hero who battles a gang of feral baddies” in an abandoned shopping mall, then scoots away in his sporty Corolla. “The ambitious production was a combination of very well rehearsed fighting sequences, and real, cuddly kitten heads.” source
There’s an animated online comic for the campaign on their website. The cuddly kitten heads may give you nightmares though!

November 8, 2008

Heidi Klum Rocking Out Of Her Clothes
November 8, 2008
You won’t be seeing this director’s cut on TV! Here is the uncut version of Heidi Klum’s Guitar Hero World Tour commercial. Kobe Bryant, Tony Hawk, Alex Rodriguez and Michael Phelps are not the only ones who can unleash their inner rock star, but I think Heidi’s version wins.
AC/DC Rocks Excel
October 26, 2008
For a lot corporate drones stuck behind the boss’s firewall. Phil Clandillon and Steve Milbourne, who work at a digital design boutique division of Sony/BMG in London, have put together what they call “the world’s first music video in Excel format,” for AC/DC’s Rock and Roll Train.
“Basically, it’s come about because we recognized that a lot of people have fairly restrictive internet and security policies at work,” Clandillon told Wired.com. “What we really liked was that we could actually subvert the corporate firewalls by including AC/DC’s music in an Excel spreadsheet, because that’s allowed through every corporate firewall there is.” [Wired]

Blackberry Storm
October 23, 2008
Even the king of QWERTY can’t resist dropping the keys for a slick touchscreen interface. The Blackberry Storm ($TBA) is RIM’s latest forray into the 3G smartphone market. For the all the iPhone haters and old clumsy thumbs, this Blackberry will feature a new “click-able” touch-screen giving a user some tactile feel missing from other touchscreen phones. In addition to the 3.26-inch (480 x 360) display, you’ll find this crackberry filled with preloaded apps, an accelerometer, built-in GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera and 1GB of onboard storage with a microSD/SDHD memory card slot for expansion.
Jazmine Sullivan - Fearless
October 20, 2008
If you are growing tired of all the crap on the radio like me you’ll be relieved that Jazmine Sullivan is not just a pretty face. Jazmine started off her vocal career in gospel, impressing the congregation with a voice strong enough to reach the heavens. Getting her break at age 11 on Showtime at the Apollo performing Accept What God Allows.
Jazmine finally found a home at J Records and set out creating her debut album, Fearless. While most artists spend their debuts trying to convince you that the belong, Jazmine has chosen to confront expectations head on. If you take only one message from her album, it’s that you do not f**k with this girl unless you want her to Bust Your Windows. An ocherestral production that you could mistaken for a love song takes you through a story of a cheating man who gets his car windows busted up.
Fearless shakes off all flash and provides the substance that has been lacking in the music industry. Jazmine Sullivan reminds me of a young Lauryn Hill from her chart toppin’ Need U Bad to the mainstream sounds of After The Hurricane. Jazmine Sullivan is one to watch the next few years.
Introducing MINI E
October 19, 2008

As part of a pilot project, the BMW Group will be unleashing 500 electric powered Minis to the California, New York and New Jersey area. With the official specifications released yesterday, the MINI E will be powered by a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor fed by a high-performance rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

The large battery weighing around 573 lbs is placed in the back seat, eliminating the backseat making the Mini E a two person. The little E outputs 204 horsepower with a torque of 162 lb-ft. It runs from 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 95 mph. That’s pretty peppy specs for a battery powered car.

Users can recharge a battery that has been completely drained within a very short period of time using a wallbox that will ship with every MINI E. The wallbox will be installed in the customer’s garage, enable higher amperage, and thus provide for extremely short charging times. Wallboxes fully recharge batteries after a mere two-and-a-half hours. A fully charged battery will produce a range of more than 240 kilometers, or 150 miles.
For those of you interested in a test drive with the new Mini E, you can sign up here and up to 500 test drivers in the US (Southern California, New York City and New Jersey) will get the chance to take the MINI E for a spin.
